The Pistons Late Rally In The Reggie Jackson Emerge

A Lot happened since I wrote my last blog before that the pistons were 4 games behind the 8th spot and was on a 4 game losing streak well that streak went on for a while they lost ten games in a row pistons fans getting upset and wondering what happened especially me during that stretch, Reggie Jackson was playing horrible it look like he was lost and confused and kcp was disappeared for a 5 game stretch where his 3pt percentage went down he is one the main scorers on this team. on that ten game losing streak they lost to the pelicans where anthony davis came back from injury and just torched us hitting the big shots to put the pistons gone for good. next game they lost to the rockets 103-93 that game they was going into the 4th quarter down 8 then rockets went on a huge scoring run make threes like the rim was even there, they went on to play charlotte that game was a must win pistons was playing great leading the whole game reggie Jackson was finally having a good game with 25 points on 9/21 shooting from the field with 7 assist the pistons lead went up to 6 going into the 4th quarter but lance Stephenson spark a plug for the hornets and the pistons offense got stuck and they went on to lose 108-101 blowing another game.
At that point the pistons was on 5 game losing streak the next few games they had to go 4 game west coast trip playing 4 games in 5 nights it all started when they went up vs. the lakers who is having a horrible season a lot of pistons fans thought they would be able to end that streak that night but things didn't pan out. they played a good first half where they was leading 50-49 but then in the second half the pistons missed there first 8 shots and the Lakers went on a 10-0 scoring run, the they was leading most of the 2nd half the pistons made a late push to cut the lead to 3 after a Jodie meeks layup but Jordan hill hit a dagger deep 2 and the pistons ending up losing 93 to 85. the next night on a back to back they went on to face the warriors who have the best record in the western conference they stayed with the warriors most of the game taking the lead in the 3rd quarter but then the warriors went on a 18-2 run where klay thompson hit 2 big threes the pistons couldn't fight back and ended up losing 98-105 that night, Andre Drummond had one of the best games with 22 points and career high 27 rebounds that game.
The Last two games on this west coast trip they ran into a Portland team who just crushed them the whole game blazers shot 50% the whole game which didn't help the pistons chances of winning Damien lillard had 28 points and was 5/7 from the 3pt line the lead got up to 25, this game got so bad that shawne williams and joel freeland got into a altercation that end of the 4th quarter which caused Williams a 1 game suspension. the pistons lost that game 118 to 99. last game on the road trip they played a Utah team who has the best record since all-star break that game the pistons shot bad from the field at 38% shooting from most of the game derrick favors was dominated down low once he found out that andre Drummond could not play in the 2nd half. jazz was up most of the 2nd half but the pistons stay closed late in the final minute of the 4th quarter both teams was scoring back and forth, the pistons had a chance to take the lead down 1 with 59 secs but spencer Dinwiddie came down and shot a quick 3 that brick jazz made free throws to bring there lead to 3 with 13 secs left pistons down 3 they had an chance to tie it up but missed they ended up losing 88 to 85 and the losing streak was at 10.
At this point nothing was going well at all the pistons was 8 games behind the 8th seed so pistons fans wanted them to keep losing so they could get a lottery pick and they had to play the grizzles after a couple of days off. At halftime the pistons was down 15 and greg Monroe was not available due to a strain knee all of sudden reggie Jackson and Caldwell pope got going Jackson had nine assist that quarter 2 of those assists were to kcp 3 pointers that led to the pistons taking the lead going into the 4th quarter game was close and Jackson got a 3 point play to finish them off. Reggie Jackson finished the game with 23 points and 20 assist and kcp had 24 points the pistons went on to win 105-95 finally ending the streak. the next night they lost to sixers that game they didn't want to play keep fighting but fell short. After a couple days off they played the bulls greg Monroe was still out with injury. that game the pistons got a good a lot of help that night caron butler was hitting threes to keep the pistons in the game 1st half but pistons was still down 12 going into the 2nd half, the bulls stretched the lead to 19 in the 3rd quarter but the pistons caught fire late in the 3rd quarter Jackson and Dinwiddie combined for 27 points and 13 assist in the 2nd half, Caldwell-pope had 15 that game hit a couple of big threes the pistons ended up winning 107 to 91.
The had to play boson the next game this game was important cause they would be able to get back in the playoff race this game, was a battle all game even down 10 points twice they keep fighting in the 4th quarter down 4 with 2 min left they scored the next 5 points Tayshaun prince hit a big three in the corner to take the lead. Celtics scored right back with a 3 point play with the pistons down 2 reggie Jackson hit a bank shot to force it to ot and the pistons outscored the Celtics 17 to 9 in that overtime and won 105 to 97. kcp lead them in scoring with 27 points that game. this win got the pistons to 4 and half games behind the 8th seed they still have a little life cause they play the heat hornets and Celtics 2 more times and the pacers one more time all these teams are in front of them hopefully they could win the last 12 games and get that final playoff spot will see what happens.
Fun Facts: Reggie Jackson Finally finding his stride in this offense He scored 23 points and handed out 20 assists against Memphis and followed that game with another terrific performance against the 76ers in which he tallied a triple-double.Jackson has really bounced back as of late, after starting his tenure in Detroit on a dismal note. Hopefully, we can see Jackson end his season on a strong note, leading into his future in Detroit. Caldwell Pope is becoming a great two player averaging 20 points in last few games and his driving game his really improving. The pistons are the first team since 2001 to have 4 players have 20 20 games in one season.
