Kenseth and JGR Land Major Sponsor For 2017
Joe Gibbs Racing announced Thursday that DeWalt Tools will be the new major sponsor for the 20 team of Matt Kenseth starting full time in 2017, with an additional 6 races for the remainder of 2016. Below is the announcement by JGR team owner Coach Joe Gibbs and driver Matt Kenseth.
DEWALT, which has sponsored Kenseth since his days with Roush Fenway Racing, will be the primary sponsor for 15 races next year and signed a multi-year deal, team owner Joe Gibbs said. It replaces Dollar General, which announced earlier this year that it would not return next season. Gibbs must still find sponsorship for about 20 races for next season.
Kenseth is thrilled to be reunited with DEWALT.
"For me, it's a dream come true really for DEWALT to come back," he said. "A couple years ago (2000), I made my first Cup start with DEWALT and I hope to make my last Cup start with DEWALT — not today of course, but hopefully someday a few years down the road."
Kenseth has one win this season and is 10th in the Sprint Cup standings. He has 13 wins in his four seasons with Gibbs.
