Yesterday afternoon, the Flyers season was ended by the Washington Capitals in game six of their best of seven first round series; the Caps won 1-0. The first period was a scoreless one as the Caps had the edge in shot, 12-5. The Caps went 0 for 3 on the power play. In the second period, Nicklas Backstrom scored the only goal of the game at 8:59 of the peirod. The Caps once again outshot the Flyers this time 11-10. The third period, the Caps were able to hold the lead and keep the Flyers from tying the game. The Flyers outshot the Caps 11-6.

Shot Totals: Capitals 29 Flyers 26

The Flyers fan gave the Flyers a standing ovation.

My thoughts are it was a good hard fought series by the Flyers for coming back making it somewhat of a series getting it to six games. The Capitals were and are just the better team.
