I have planned out your weekend... College Football Week 5 edition

The football weekend opened up Thursday evening with two very blowout games as #6 Houston (as expected) beat up on UConn 42-14 and Texas Tech continued Kansas's 7 year road losing streak, blowing them out 55-19. Thursday was a very boring day of college football, but this weekend is a different story. Therefore, I have planned out your college football weekend. You should probably listen (or read) up because this is what you'll be doing for the next 30+ hours.
Friday, September 30th
Friday finally has a good College Football game for the first time this season. And the best part about it is that you can actually go support your local high school, get home and start watching some college football. Kickoff isn't until 9 o'clock.

#7 Stanford Cardinal (3-0) at #10 Washington (4-0) -- 9:00pm ET, ESPN

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

A TOP TEN MATCHUP!!! Christian McCaffrey and the Stanford Cardinal travel up to Washington to face the Huskies and QB Jake Browning. Both teams barely pulled off the win last week when Stanford beat out UCLA in the final seconds and Washington avoided the Arizona upset in overtime. One of the most watched players in College football, Chrisitan McCaffrey had a quiet game last week against UCLA which was one of the reasons why Stanford struggled against UCLA, he had no touchdowns and rushed for only 138 yards. Expect him to have trouble getting it going again this week at Washington. The Huskie defense is one of the best defenses in the country, they are in the top 15 in scoring defense and are tied for the NCAA lead in turnovers forced with 13. On the flip side, Stanford defense is equally as good, allowing less points defensively than Washington, cracking the top 10 with only 12 PPG against a much tougher schedule. Washington QB is in the top 3 in passing efficiency only throwing two interceptions and 14 TDs so far this season. Expect a low scoring game Friday evening, with a lot of three and outs. Even with the low scoring I expect for the Cardinal to pull it out, winning only by three points.

Other games on Friday evening: Toldeo at BYU, 10:15pm ESPN2

Saturday, October 1st
After a long night of college football, it is not a bad thing, you would probably wake up at around 10 or 11 and you would have less time to wait for the football day to begin. I would turn on College GameDay, live from Clemson, South Carolina  and watch GameDay until kickoff of the Noon (ET) games.

#22 Texas Longhorns (2-1) at Oklahoma State Cowboys (2-2) -- 12pm ET, ABC

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

Last time you saw Texas on the field they were taking part in another close (but controversial) game against the Cal Bears. After a bye week, Texas is more than ready to get back on the field. They travel to Stillwater to face off against the Oklahoma State Cowboys to open up Big 12 play. It was the tale of two sides for the Longhorns last game, who was on point on offense against Cal but the defense was absolutely horrendous. Texas's D, lead by my man Malik Jefferson, gave up over 500 yards and 50 points to Cal (2-2). Texas' running backs D'Onta Foreman and Chris Warren III both had 2 touchdowns and 100+ yard last game while Texas continued with the 2 quarterback system with Shane Buechele taking most of the shaps while Tyrone Swoopes coming in on other plays. The Cowboys are coming off a 35-24 loss at #13 Baylor in a game that was much closer than the final score indicates. The only time the country really has heard of Oklahoma State is when they lost to Central Michigan one the last second controversial ending. However, they followed up that embarrassing loss by beating Pitt the next week.  QB Mason Rudolph is in the top 12 in passing yards per game so far in the season, throwing for over 340 yards per game. I am expecting a close game until the middle of the 4th quarter until a long TD by Texas will blow the game open.

Other good games at the 12pm hour: Notre Dame at Syracuse, 12pm ESPN; #23 Florida at Vanderbilt, 12pm SEC Network; #14 Miami at Georgia Tech, 12pm ESPN2

#8 Wisconsin Badgers (4-0) at #4 Michigan Wolverines (4-0) -- 3:30pm ET, ABC

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan will try to snap their eight year losing streak to top 10 teams Saturday afternoon when Wisconsin travels to the Big House in the second top 10 match-up of the weekend. This is Michigan's first test of the year after facing Hawaii, UCF, Colorado and Penn State scoring over 45 points in each game, outscoring their opponents 208 to 55. They are averaging 52 points a game, ranked 4th in the country. QB Wilton Speight already has over 850 yards for 9 touchdowns, completing over 60% of his passes. Sophomore Jabrill Peppers, who does anything that is asked of him, is one of the best players in the country. He already 33 tackles in four games and 9 tackles for a loss. He plays both linebacker and safety on defense and occasionally runs the ball on offense. Wisconsin, who opened eyes for every college football last week when the demolished eighth ranked Michigan State, looks to continue their undefeated record. The Badgers are surprisingly a double digit underdog, something that they can play off of, showing the College Football world that they are here to play. The Michigan rushing game will have a tough time running on the Wisconsin defense as they are in the top 10 in the country in rushing defense.  QB Alex Horibrook isn't one of the best quarterbacks in the country, but he can show that he is a leader out on the field. I expect for the game to be close for the first half but for Michigan to blow the Badgers out the rest of the game, winning by at least 15 points.

Another top 25 matchup to watch this time period of the day is #11 Tennessee (4-0) at #25 Georgia (3-1) -- 3:30pm ET, CBS. Georgia is trying to recover from last week's debacle at Ole Miss by defeating Josh Dobbs and Jalen Herd and the Tennessee Vols. Tennessee could still be hungover from last weeks' big win over Florida. I'm expecting for it to be close through three quarters before Tennessee pulls away in the forth quarter.

Other good games at the 3:30pm hour: North Carolina at #12 Florida State, 3:30pm ESPN;  Navy at Air Force, 3:30pm CBS Sports Network; Minnesota at Penn State, 3:30pm Big Ten Network; Oklahoma at #21 TCU 5:00pm FOX

Take a break for a little while after the ending of those two games, get some dinner and then sit back down for more college football, and the best game of the day...

#3 Louisville Cardinals (4-0) at #5 Clemson Tigers (4-0) -- 8:00pm ET, ABC

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Lamar Jackson's Heisman candidate season continues as he and the Louisville Cardinals travel to Clemson, SC in the third top 10 matchup of the day and the first top 5 matchup of the year. You've heard by now about Lamar Jackson, he has over 1,300 yards passing, over 500 yards rushing and 25 total touchdowns in only 4 games. If Louisville can pull it off, there are probably in the playoff, even if they happen to lose a game. They would have wins over two top 5 teams in the season. There is not much to say about Louisville, expect for Lamar Jackson, and the fact that they are scoring over 60 points a game. It'll be the battle of the quarterbacks with Deshaun Watson playing on the other side of the ball. This will be a defensive struggle for both teams, even with the type of defenses that they have. It expect a high scoring, double overtime game with Louisville pulling it out after going for two in the second overtime.

Other good games at the 8pm hour: None really, that is the only game you need to watch...

So that is your next 30+ hours, if you go by this guide you'll have a very good next two days.
