The DGB era is officially over in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Eagles tweeted out the following earlier this morning, announcing that the team has "waived" Dorial Green-Beckham.

Green-Beckham, 24, entered the league as a second-round pick with the Tennessee Titans in 2015. A highly-talented player, DGB's talent never materialized into NFL production. In two seasons, Green-Beckham secured 68 catches for 941 yards and six touchdowns. Despite his raw talent, the main issue with the former Missouri Tiger has been his work ethic. Prior to training camp last summer, Green-Beckham was traded to Philadelphia for Dennis Kelly, as some within the Titans organization questioned his dedication to the game of football.

This move has been expected for some time now, as the Eagles completely revamped their receiving corps this offseason, adding Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Mack Hollins, and Shelton Gibson -- in addition to incumbent receivers Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor, and Bryce Treggs. Clearly, there were more mouths to feed than there were balls to go around, and Green-Beckham's lack of a productive track record made it an easy decision to cut the cord.

The Eagles open the season against the Washington Redskins on September 10th in Landover, Maryland.
