When players in any sport suffers an injury their career takes a blow they bounce back but they also lose a little bit along the way and I'm guessing that is what triggered Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas to tweet that he was considering retirement after suffering a season ending broken leg against the Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks won 40-7 but this tweet right here had to shake up the team.......

When asked about the comments of Thomas, coach Pete Carroll responded,

"I would say a lot was running through his mind when he said that," head coach Pete Carroll said when asked about a Thomas retirement. "I think he told you exactly what he was talking about -- what he felt. I saw him in the training room at halftime and he's okay. He's going to be alright. I'm not so sure about that right there but I'm not surprised that he said something like that. Earl's apt to say something that might surprise you and he did."

His fellow defensive back field teammate Richard Sherman said he thought it was "a little bit of an exaggeration" but still saw the validity in the response.

"I think all of us consider retirement just about every game and when you get injured like that, a lot of stuff goes through your mind," Sherman told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer's Stephen Cohen.

What ever the case may be I look forward to Earl Thomas returning in 2017 injury free and ready to roll. He is may the top safety in the NFL and the team wouldn't let him walk away so easily. He may scale back on the big hits but his athletic ability will surely account for that. Thomas finishes the 2017 season with 48 tackles and 2 interceptions.
