One of the biggest connsverities is over if Ben Simmons is really a "rookie". So now let's go into the stats, since don't lie. Simmons averaged 15, 8 and 8 in his first season. Simmons is 3rd on the scoring per game just behind Lakers Kyle Kuzma. Simmons was a monster on the boards which is why he is the rookie rebounding leader. Simmons didn’t stop leading the way for rookies their he also led the rookies in assists per game with 8. Also a very strong defender he led the way with 1.7 steals per game. Simmons blew every rookie out of the water with 38 double doubles and the 2nd highest was 17. Simmons was 6th in the league for double double, with that strong of a stat line it's hard to vote against him. The one thing that hurts Simmons is that he wasn’t the teams go to man and he was feed off of someone off which Mitchell wasn’t he was the man. Simmons might not be considered as a rookie to some since he was with the team last year, with that he learned the system and lifted and got stronger. That one year could of made a big difference and that might throw him out of Rookie of the Year

Donovan mitchell a true rookie as everyone would say and himself with his rookie sweatshirts. Mitchell was the man for Utah Jazz. Mitchell averaged 20, 4 and 4 which is very strong for a rookie. Mitchell led rookies in scoring which makes sense when your the teams first option. Mitchell was 15th in rebounding which is aways away from simmons but simmons is way taller which helps him. Mitchell is also playing better competition as the West is a lot stronger than the East the East only has 3 teams in Contention and theres 5 or 6 in the West. Mitchell took care of the ball better than simmons and turned it over slightly less over the course of the season. Simmons stats are more overall but Mitchell has more upside than Simmons. My pick is Donovan Mitchell for Rookie of the Year.
