SmackDown Live Results for 1-24-2017: Mickie James Explains Herself, U.S. Title Match

Match 1 - Luke Harper vs. Randy Orton: Orton took the win by countering Harper's discus clothesline with his RKO.  At the end of the match, Bray Wyatt entered the ring and gave Harper Sister Abigail.  He walked off with Orton, leaving many to wonder if he had kicked Harper out or simply punished him more.

Renee Young interviewed Mickie James in the ring next, and the former Divas Champion finally explained her actions.  She said that all of the current women had forgotten who she was, except one, Alexa Bliss.  That is why she helped her in defeating Becky Lynch.  She further went on to say that the Women's Revolution was a farce, because she had already revolutionized women's wrestling.

Match 2 - 10-Man Battle Royale for a Spot in the Royal Rumble Match: The competitors in this affair were, Simon Gotch, Aiden English, Mojo Rawley, Fandango, Tyler Breeze, Konor, Viktor, Heath Slater, Rhyno, and Curt Hawkins.  The winner ended up being Mojo Rawley, which meant that he was going to be in the Royal Rumble Match.

The following segment was A.J. Styles and John Cena's face-off.  To be honest, it wasn't anything special.  The same old things were brought up, and it didn't end in a brawl of any kind.

Match 3 - Kalisto vs. Dolph Ziggler: This was practically a squash match, as Kalisto lost in a couple of minutes.  Ziggler gave him a superkick and then covered him for the pinfall.  Despite the win, Ziggler continued to pummel Kalisto after the bell.  That prompted Apollo Crews to run out and fend off Ziggler.  The "Show-Off" headed out once he saw Crews hitting ringside.

Match 4 - Naomi vs. Natalya: This match didn't happen thanks to Nikki Bella attacking Nattie in the back.  Naomi said she wanted a fight, and that's when Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss, walked out.  The champion teased a match, but ended up walking to the back instead.

Match 5 - Intercontinental Championship, The Miz vs. (c) Dean Ambrose: Good match, in which the "Lunatic Fringe" defended his title successfully.  He hit Miz with Dirty Deeds and then pinned him for the three-count.
