Wow, what a week. Alabama is back on top, SURPRISE!!!! The Tide got everything they could handle and then some at times against Mississippi State this week, and their win means so much. The fact that they were injured and still won means that this team is loaded. It doesn't mean they're a guaranteed lock for the playoff, but it's going to be difficult to beat this team even with backups in. The more those players learn, the better they're going to get, so someone needs to actually trip up the Tide before it's too late.

Oklahoma's offense could be considered the best in the nation, and the depth at each position is a big reason why. Every position has multiple athletes that can play at a high level without too much drop off. Baker Mayfield has saved his best performance for his last season, and the Sooners are dangerous. A loss doesn't appear to be in their future, but the Big 12 conference championship is where things get interesting. Beating a team twice is going to be difficult, but the Sooners have proved they are ready for any test that comes their way.

Miami is the latest team to debunk the Notre Dame myth. The Hurricanes dominated from the opening whistle, and the Irish never stood a chance. Is this the best team in the ACC? Right now, I think so, and I can't wait for the conference championship game against Clemson. Mark Richt's change of scenery seems to be just what he needed, and Hurricanes fans have already forgotten the struggles from the pre-Richt era. And how about that turnover chain? What a game changer.

Clemson jumped out to a 17-0 lead, and then let Florida State get back in it, only to pull away in the end. A roller coaster ride has been the case for a couple games now for the defending champs, and they'll need to steady the ship if they want to make another playoff run. They've navigated their own division, which in past years meant they would win the conference, but the Coastal Division isn't what it used to be. Miami is awaiting their chance to dethrone the kings, and the Tigers are in for a serious test. And to think that's still three weeks away.

Wisconsin beat Iowa by 24. Iowa beat Ohio State by 31. Confusing, I know. The Badgers destroyed Iowa, and the Hawkeyes only points came off of two pick-sixes. Wisconsin continues to do everything they can control to get into the playoff, but will it be enough? Side note: Gophers fans, do you see how you take an easy schedule and turn it into 10+ wins?

Georgia may have lost, but I'm struggling with putting a two loss team in the Top 6 over them, even if that team has the head-to-head advantage. If Auburn makes it into the conference championship game and beats Georgia again, I have no problem putting them in this group. But, if they don't make it, it's hard to justify putting them above a one loss team that is already in that championship game. Auburn still has to play Alabama, and a three loss team not playing for a conference title surely isn't better than a one loss team that is. I don't know, Auburn looked so good, but I guess everything will play out how it's supposed to, and then we don't have to worry about it.
