Here We Go Houston Here We Go!

In a not just full, but overcrowded, TDECU Stadium, Houston's smackdown upset of Louisville could be considered the win of the season for any team in the American. 36-10 is no fluke, especially when its done how Houston did it. Forcing three fumbles and sacking Lamar Jackson a total 11 times on defense proves what Houston can really do when 100% healthy. Louisville averaged just under 50 points a game going into Thursday night when the Cougar D held the quick strike offense to one touchdown and a field goal, both coming in the second half. Both Ed Oliver and Steven Taylor had a night, with 13 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 5.5 tackles for loss combined.

Houston's Defense shut down Lamar Jackson's run game, holding him to 33 yards on the ground and forcing him to fumble.

Greg Ward Jr. threw 25-44 with 233 passing yards and 2 TD's and Chance Allen had 105 reception yards on 4 catches with a TD. Duke Catalon proved he can make impact with a short distance run game tonight with 39 yards on 14 carries and 1 TD, and 9 catches for 68 reception yards. Houston's offense stacked up 31 points in the first half and coasted with not much more in the second half.

Chance Allen burned Louisville secondary with 4 receptions for 105 yards.

For Louisville all CFP chances are gone and Jackson's Heisman isn't as for sure as it looked before. For Houston, they will shoot back into the Top 20 and are back into question for things if some things go their way. If Navy loses their last two to East Carolina and SMU and Houston beats Memphis, the New Years 6 bowl bid is well awake and alive.
