Crown A Champ

Give the man a Crown! Welcome to the Royals.
David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

The trade deadline in baseball is rapidly approaching and today's trade may save a great team. I am sure you may have guessed it the Kansas City Royals. Johnny Cueto is a major splash, would a trade like this happened in the past? The Kansas City Royals were one game away from their first title since 1985 last year against the Giants. I really love this move with Jason Vargas out for the season the Royals repaired their pitching rotation and nabbed an ace. Will the Royals be able to resign him? My gut tells me no, but that doesn't matter because they may win the World Series now.

Their is not a single dominant team in the A.L this year, and typically the team that can gets hot wins the World Series. Giants fans know this face three out of five years they got hot in the postseason. Baseball playoffs are so wacky and unpredictable, in fact look at last years Wild Card Playoff the Royals were losing 7-3 to the Athletics and yet despite that they came back and won against Jon Lester.

What I love about this move is they didn't have to give up an arm and a leg. The Royals only gave up three prospects in their farm system.  "In exchange for Cueto, Cincinnati got minor-league pitchers Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb and Cody Reed". Los Angles Times, (Austin Knoblauch.) The Royals time has come to win the World Series and this will be the best chance. I am very excited to watch this team. I am sure this will push Dodgers to acquire Cole Hamels. The World Series may be the return of the Royals, who want to pull a San Antonio Spurs and get revenge and win a championship.
