Nick Swisher to Braves

Nick is headed to Atlanta!

ESPN reported that Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher have been traded to the Braves for Chris Johnson.

The trade makes no sense for either team, unless their is a move we don't know about. The Braves are rebuilding and you don't acquire two veterans, unless they think someone will give up prospects. I admit Nick Swisher was decent in New York, and I thought he would be a major pick up in Cleveland. Sadly, it did not work out that way for Nick. Maybe the Braves will rejuvenate his career. He does have a big contract, and for the Indians they just fixed their mistake.

Bourn is a solid defensive player, and he will play decent, and who knows maybe that is the plan. The Braves can play them this year, and hope they perform down the stretch and if they do you trade them in the off season.

For the record all Cleveland did was clear salary, Chris Johnson doesn't really add a whole to the team. I checked his stats on ESPN he has two home runs and eleven rbi's. They are decent numbers for a back-up.

It will be interesting to watch how this trade pans out, not because it was a great trade. However, it was a intriguing move and sometimes those are the funnest moves.
