Championship Weekend Wrap-Up and Thoughts

Exciting games this past weekend as we had the Chiefs against Titans for the AFC and the Packers against 49ers for the NFC.

AFC Championship: Chiefs vs Titans

I won't lie I was cheering hard for the Titans. I wanted to see Derrick Henry pound the ball all the way to the Lombardi trophy. When the Titans went up 17-7 I thought that the game was going to be one to remember. I also thought that the Titans wouldn't make the same mistake as the Texans had last week. Unfortunately, I was wrong. For some reason the Titans decided to stop doing what they do best, run with Henry. The Chiefs did a great job at forcing the Titans to beat them by passing, taking away their best offensive strategy. The Chiefs played defense much better than I expected against the Titans. Exciting to watch up until the late game pass interference call on the Chiefs 3rd down in a crucial stop for the Titans. Lost all excitement after that call, especially since I have seen many more blatant pass interferences not get called that change the outcome of the game completely.

NFC Championship: Packers vs 49ers

I know I said exciting and honestly the only reason why this game was exciting to me was because I don't want to hear Aaron Rodgers be compared to Tom Brady anymore. San Fran had this game in control from the very start. The Packers could not stop Mostert who had 29 carries for 220 yards and a crazy 4 touchdowns. Packers couldn't answer that at all, especially Rodgers. Rodgers had great passing with 326 yards and 2 touchdowns, but had 2 interceptions and fumbled the ball 3 times with one being lost. The 49ers handled this game unbelievably well and now Jimmy G is on his way to the Super Bowl and throwing just 8 passes for 77 yards.

The stage is set in Miami for the 49ers and the Chiefs, which will be a very fun game to watch for all fans no matter the teams they root for.
