2017 NFL Draft: 1st Round

1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M – 6’5” 262, JR

3 year career at Texas A&M.  145 career tackles and 7 forced fumbles.  8.5 sacks during his junior season for the Aggies.  First-team All-American in both 2015 and 2016. 

2. Chicago Bears (From San Fransisco): Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina – 6’3”, 225, JR

Trubisky ranks 5th in UNC history with 41 passing touchdowns and 6th in passing yards with 4,762.  Single season school record for passing yards with 3,748.  7 different games with at least 3 touchdown passes.  Threw a streak of 243 pass attempts before throwing an interception.

3. San Fransisco 49ers (From Chicago): Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford – 6’3” 271 – JR

2 year career at Stanford.  98 total tackles including 12 sacks.  Registered 8.5 sacks during the 2016 season.  4 fumble recoveries, including 1 returned for a touchdown.  2016 AP All-America Third Team

4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB, Louisiana State – 6’0, 240, JR

Finished his collegiate career with 3,830 rushing yards and 40 career rushing touchdowns.  Averaged 6.2 yards per carry over collegiate career.  From 2014-2015, had a streak of 9 consecutive games with 100+ rushing yards.  School record 1,953 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns in 2015.  6th in Heisman Trophy voting.  First team All-American in 2015

5. Tennessee Titans (From Rams): Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan - 6'3", 209, SR

All-time FBS receiving yards leader with 5,285 yards.  Top 10 in FBS receiving in each of last 3 seasons.  Consensus All-American.  

 

6. New York Jets: Jamal Adams, Louisiana State – 5’11” 211, JR

3 year career at LSU.  209 career tackles (128 solo), 18 career tackles for a loss. 5 interceptions.  Started every game in last 2 seasons. 

7. San Diego Chargers: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson – 6'4", 218, JR

In three seasons, snagged 177 passes for 2,727 yards and 21 touchdowns.  3rd in Clemson history in receiving touchdowns, 4th in receiving yards.  Second team All-American in 2016.  First team All-ACC.  Caught 3 touchdowns in Clemson’s game against South Carolina in 2016.

8. Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford – 6’0”, 200, JR

CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year.  Second team All-American.  1st nationally with 211.6 all-purpose yards per game.  Lead the Pac-12 with 145.7 rushing yards per game.  School record 284 rushing yards against Cal.  Seven career games with 300+ all-purpose yards.

9. Cincinnati Bengals: John Ross, WR, Washington – 5’11”, 188, JR

Fastest 40 yard dash time at NFL Combine. ESPN First Team All-American, Finished 2016 season with 17 receiving touchdowns.  Third in FBS in touchdown receptions.  All-Pac-12 First Team.

10. Kansas City Chiefs (From Bills): Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech – 6’2”, 225,

63.5 career completion percentage.  93 touchdown passes and 22 rushing touchdowns.  Tossed a ball 78 yards at his Pro Day.  Threw for an NCAA single-game record 734 yards against Oklahoma.  Also selected as a pitcher in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers.

11. New Orleans Saints:  Marshon Lattimore – 6’ 192, SO

Started all 13 games in 2016.  Named first team All Big Ten.  4 interceptions in the 2016 season.  Career high 9 tackles in Ohio State’s game against Wisconsin.

12. Houston Texans (From Browns through Eagles): Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson – 6’2”, 221,

Lead Clemson to consecutive College Football Playoffs.  Won National Championship in 2016.  Two time Heisman Trophy finalist.  Two time Davey O’Brien Award winner.  Threw for 10,163 yards in his collegiate career and 90 career passing touchdowns.

13. Arizona Cardinals: Haason Reddick, LB, Temple – 6’1”, 237, SR

Lead the nation in tackles for a loss with 22.5 in 2016.  Invitation to participate in the senior bown.  Fourth team All-American.  Walked on at Temple in 2012.

14. Philadelphia Eagles (From Vikings): Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee – 6’3”, 259, JR

First team All-American in 2016.  2014 Freshman All-American team.  All-time sacks leader at Tennessee with 33.  Leads all FBS players in career sacks.  13 sacks in the 2016 season.  7 different multi-sack games in career.  52 career tackles for a loss is 2nd in Tennessee history.

15. Indianapolis Colts: Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State – 6’1”, 206, SO

Lead Big Ten in interceptions; Third in the nation.  2016 All-American.  Three career interception returns for a touchdown.

16. Baltimore Ravens: Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama – 6’1”, 198, SO

First team All-American in 2016.  Freshman All-American in 2015.  81 career tackles with 5 interceptions.

17. Washington Redskins: Jonathan Allen, Alabama – 6’3”, 294, SR

Finished career with 28.5 career sacks for the Crimson Tide.    Finished 7th in Heisman Trophy voting.  Unanimous first team All-American selection.  Named SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

18. Tennessee Titans: Adoree’ Jackson, CB, USC – 5’11”, 185, JR

Pac-12 Defensice Player of the Year.  2,141 career kickoff return yards (USC record).  139 career tackles, 6 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles.  Three year starter for the Trojans.  3 way player in college (CB, WR, KR).  4 career punt return touchdowns.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama – 6’6”, 251, SR

Finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.  Third Team All-American by Associated Press.  Second team All-SEC.  MVP of the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.  114 career receptions for 1,726 yards.  7 career receiving touchdowns.

20. Denver Broncos: Garrett Bolles, OT, Utah – 6’6”, 296, JR

2 seasons at Snow College before transferring to Utah.  Played one season for the Utes.  First team All-Pac-12.  NJCAA first team All-American in 2015.  #1 junior college prospect in the nation according to Scout.com

21. Detroit Lions: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida – 6’1”, 238, SR

2016 Second Team All-American.  Team captain for the Gators.  Recorded 98 total tackles in the 2015 season.

22. Miami Dolphins: Charles Harris, OLB, Missouri – 6’3”, 253, JR

Lead the Tigers in tackles for a loss (12), sacks (9), and QB hurries (10) in 2016.  Second team All-SEC in 2015.  

23. New York Giants: Evan Engram, TE, Mississippi – 6’3”, 235, TE

All-time Ole Miss leader in receptions (162), receiving yards (2,320), and touchdown catches (15) by a tight end.  Four time All-SEC selection.  First team All-American in 2016.

24. Oakland Raiders: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State – 6’0”, 195, JR

Second-team All-Big Ten in 2016.  27 starts in 42 collegiate games.  6 career interceptions; 4 in 2016.  Totaled 91 career tackles.

25. Cleveland Browns (From Texans): Jabrill Peppers, LB/DB, Michigan – 6’1”, 205, JR

2016 Paul Hornung Award winner (most versatile player).  5th in 2016 Heisman Trophy voting.  2016 First Team All-American.  2015 Second Team All-American.  125 career total tackles.  

26. Atlanta Falcons (From Seahawks): Takkarist McKinley, DL, UCLA – 6’2”, 265, SR

First Team All-Pac-12.  Recorded 10 sacks and 18 tackles for a loss in the 2016 season.  Invited to the Senior Bowl.  

27. Buffalo Bills (From Chiefs): Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU – 5’11”, 192, SR

2016 Consensus All-American, 2015 Second team All-SEC.  Four year starter at LSU.  47 starts in 49 games.  167 total tackles.  6 career interceptions.  3 career punt return touchdowns.

28. Dallas Cowboys: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan – 6’6”, 272, SR

Four year letterman.  2016 first team All-Big Ten.  94 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss, and 19 sacks during his career.  

29. Cleveland Browns (From Packers): David Njoku, TE, Miami – 6’4”, 246, SO

2016 All-ACC honorable mention.  Started 5 games for the Hurricanes in 2016.  Recorded 43 passes for 698 yards with 8 touchdowns.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers: TJ Watt, OLB, Wisconsin – 6’4”, 252, Wisconsin

2016 first team All-American, 2015 All-Big Ten.  In two seasons, recorded 71 tackles, including 17 tackles for a loss.  11.5 sacks in the 2016 season.  Younger brother of 3 time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt.

31. San Fransisco 49ers (From Seahawks through Falcons): Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama – 6’1”, 228, Sr.

Won the Butkus Award as the nation’s best linebacker.  Unanimous first team All-American.  Alabama defense led the nation in rush defense (63.9 yards per game), scoring defense (13.0 PPG), and second in total defense (261.8 yards per game).  Lead the team with 115 tackles.  222 total tackles in his collegiate career.  

32. New Orleans Saints (From Patriots): Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin – 6’6”, 314, SR

2016 consensus First team All-American.  Transferred from NCAA Division III UW-Stevens Point.  Started all 14 games at Wisconsin.  Ranked as top FBS run blocker by Pro Football Focus.  Allowed just 1 sack in 14 games.
