Ring Night in Cleveland

The night began with a choked up LeBron James thanking the Cleveland fans for their support and congratulating them on the championship success. It was an emotional night for the team and the city as the Indians were hosting game one of the World Series just across the river. JR Smith fought back tears as he reflected on his roller coaster career and then tip off happened and the Cavs looked like a team ready to defend it's title.

Led by Lebron's 43rd career triple-double the Cavs won 117-88. James had 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. Some of the assists were of the spectacular variety with no looks and back door dimes. But it was his running mates that truly stole the show. Kevin Love had a double double with 23 points and 12 rebounds while kyrie Irving had 29 points on 4/7 from 3 with 4 assists and 0 turnovers. It was Kyrie's 19 third quarter points that helped the Cavs blow the game wide open. The Cavs had a 20-4 run in the third highlighted by 3 Irving three pointers.

The Cavs looked like a well oiled machine most of the night and played well together. Richard Jefferson added 13 points and 4 rebounds off the bench to help balance the attack. This is the team to beat in the East and they looked poised for a title run.
