College hoops roundup - Norris, Farmer, Grimshaw, Keckler and Kohlus

Xavier Norris is having an impressive freshman campaign for United Tribes Technical College.

As we head towards December and into the heart of high-school hoops, several local players are making some mighty contributions on the collegiate scene.

Xavier Norris and Adrian Farmer playing well for UTTC -

UTTC lost to St. Cloud Technical & Community College 94-90 on Nov. 19.

Xavier Norris - 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals

Adrian Farmer - 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal

UTTC beat Nuesta Hidatsa Sahnish College 129-110

Xavier Norris 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals

Adrian Farmer 4 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals

Norris is a former prep star for CEB while Farmer graduated in 2016 from Lower Brule.

Grimshaw having solid sophomore campaign at Briar Cliff:

Eireann Grimshaw driving the lane for two points in Briar Cliff's win over Dordt.

A big week for Briar Cliff as the ladies went 2-1 with wins over Saint Mary, Dordt and a tough loss to Hastings.

Grimshaw vs. Saint Mary - 9 points

Grimshaw vs. Dordt - 9 points

Grimshaw, did not score vs. Hastings...

Grimshaw is a former prep star at Todd County high school

Keckler playing at Gillette College -

Sorry, can't find game stats on Gillette College but seems like I saw somewhere on Facebook that former CEB star, Dawnee Keckler had 17 points in one of the games in Arizona. Gillette is 3-5 on the season.

Keckler and the Pronghorns take on Eastern Wyoming College on Friday, Nov. 25

Grant Kohlus playing at Bismarck State:

Just three games in the books for Bismarck State where 2016 CEB graduate, Grant Kohlus is playing significant minutes for the Mystics.

One start already this season out of three games for Kohlus, best game of 6 points, 2 rebounds and an assist.

Hard to find good box scores and such at some of these smaller colleges. If you have a former prep athlete that readers might be interested in, give me a shout on Facebook and or email to [email protected]

Think it's good for the young people of South Dakota to know there are people they know, people just like them, that are competing at a high level and doing some great work in college athletics.

Happy Thanksgiving!
