Philip Area lays the wood at Kimball/White Lake invite...
Philip Area's Nick Donnoly captured the 152 pound championship at the Kimball/White Lake Invitational as the Scotties easily won the team championship.
So, first thing after recapping the Stanley County Invite, checked back into Track Wrestling to find out where the Philip Scotties were this weekend. Custer, No, Ok, they must have gone to the Kimball/White Lake Invitational.
Check the team score...Philip 274.5 to Winner's 210...Then checked the results (5) champions, 5 runner-up guys and brackets filled with Philip guys including the 145 pound final where Philip's Trey Elshere beat Philip's Colby Fitch in the finals.
Seriously Philip....shut up....that's impressive!
Champions: 106 - 1st Place - McCoy Peterson of Philip Area, 113 - 1st Place - Jadyn Coller of Philip Area, 1st Place - 145 - Trey Elshere of Philip Area, 152 - 1st Place - Nick Donnelly of Philip Area, 160 - 1st Place - Keagan Fitch of Philip Area
That 145-160 area, with Kaylor Pinney at 170 who finished behind Winner's Kayleb Brozik looks like a gauntlet of all gauntlets.
That's a tough tournament to run away with and Philip dominated the field. Guess they simply do reload there in Philip Area and the Scotties look like a team that will be in the hunt for a team title at the Class B meet in February.
Alright, so Philip Area heads off to the baddest tournament in South Dakota this weekend, the Rapid City Invite. It's the who's who of South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming...Will be interested to see how they do in Rapid and will work on getting some better photos of these guys...Will see ya at the Winner Invite and schedule permitting, might just have to attend the Philip Invitational to see what all the fuss is about up there.
