Would it be funny if Richard Sherman was taking shots at the NFL
If ya haven't seen the new Tom Brady Foot Locker commercial, stop, take 35 seconds and give it a look as the greatest QB in history takes a few shots at the NFL's recent decision to suspend him for four games.
While the commercial is hilarious, in all reality, it's a thinly veiled shot at Roger Goodell and the NFL and the courts for mandating a four game suspension to start the season.
Don't ya get fined if you criticize the officiating?
And yet, Sir Tom Brady, the game's greatest QB can just randomly take shots at the NFL, the courts and the proceedings that led up to his four-game 'vacation' and there are no consequences.
Always seems like there is such a double-standard with the New England Patriots. Rob Gronkowski can party like a fool and make vague references to 69'ing and he's viewed as a fun loving guy who enjoys his off-seasons.
Wonder how the general public would view Odell Beckham Jr. or Josh Norman if they were out dropping a few beers, throwing back a few shots and partying around with the ladies.
And so, here comes Tom Brady with his 'little' shots at the NFL. Is there any other player in the NFL that could get away with that and not come under scrutiny? Could Cam Newton get away with that?
What if were Richard Sherman coming at the NFL and making fun of a suspension a lot of people took the time to investigate and ultimately came down with a four-game suspension as the punishment for a crime that may or may not have happened? Would we all be sitting around laughing at the same verse as it drifted off the mouth of Sherman?
Perception is everything, I guess....Still a funny commercial, but it does give pause to think!
