Can The Blackhawks Catch The Capitals?

The fight for the President's Trophy is coming down to a hand full of teams - Penguins, Blue Jackets, Capitals, and Blackhawks. Let's focus on the latter two of the bunch.

Who has a better chance of winning the President's Trophy - the Capitals or the Blackhawks?

The Chicago Blackhawks have eight games remaining, six of them being on the road. They also have some tough games coming up against Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Boston. On the bright side, Chicago has been on an absolute tear since mid February and don't look to be slowing down any time soon.

On the other hand, the Washington Capitals have nine games remaining, with six of them being on the road. Similar to Chicago, the Capitals have a couple tough games remaining with Minnesota, Columbus, Boston and New York. Washington has been struggling the past month or so, having a five game losing streak as well.

As much as I'd love to see the Chicago Blackhawks win the President's Trophy, I just don't see it happening. The Capitals have been the better team for much of the season. Washington also has that game in hand on Chicago, while already having a two point advantage. But hey, if the Blackhawks do manage to pull it out and win it, I'd be the happiest person alive.
