The Golden Escape

Needless to say, the Golden State Warriors escaped Sunday afternoon with a two point victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The final score is definitely not indicative of the game. The Spurs, led by Kawhi Leonard, came out the first quarter blazing and led by as many as 25 points and led by 20 at halftime. The third quarter seemed like it was going to play out the same way until Kawhi Leonard injured his ankle after a made three pointer. Leonard attempted to continue to play however he rolled his ankle a second time and left the remainder of the game. When Leonard went out, it seemed as if the Warriors' parents had left for the weekend and it was time to party as they went on an 18-0 run. Stephen Curry dominated the third quarter and Kevin Durant took over the fourth. Game 2 on Tuesday may be slightly different. One thing is for sure, pace is definitely key in this series. Whoever controls it will win.
