Eagles name Nick Foles the starting quarterback for the season opener .

The Philadelphia Eagles have named a starting quarterback for the season opener, head coach Doug Pederson is going with Nick Foles in Thursday night’s game against the Falcons as news broke out Monday. Carson Wentz has not yet been cleared for contact and is still not fully ready to go, no panick Eagles fans you got Nick Foles as you’re starter, the same guy who took over for Wentz and won you guys the Super Bowl as a backup quarterback.

It it was just last season that Carson Wentz went down with an ACL injury in week 14 against the Los Angles Rams. Nick Foles took over and lead the Philadelphia Eagles to the super bowl and they defied the odds by beating the New England Patriots as Foles completed 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns including one he caught, Foles was named Super Bowl MVP.

However in the preseason, he struggled as he threw two interceptions against the Cleveland Browns and the week before he injured his shoulder against the Patriots. Many are concerned if Foles will never be the same guy that he was last season and the Super Bowl, but do not underestimate Foles. He is somewhere studying the playbook and is getting ready to see the field and Atlanta should take notice. In the last seven games, Foles has thrown for 573 yards and 7 touchdowns. With no Carson Wentz, Nick Foles is and should be the guy to lead the Eagles, he is going to go out and play at his very best Thursday night. The question is, will the Eagles survive with Foles? I think they will be just fine, if you an Eagles fans you need to believe in Foles and he showed you why last year.
