For the New York Giants, nothing hasn’t changed.

The New York Giants were so close to get a win, they played their hearts out only to lose in a spilt second. The Giants came back from being down 17-3 and than cut the lead down to three in the 4th quarter. The Giants were finally able to score touchdown as Eli Manning there It to Saquon Barkley and took a 31-30 lead. The Giants looked like they had the game won but the defense allowed Cam Newton and the Panthers to drive to the 63 yard line, a field goal seemed impossible but the Panthers were up to try. Graham Gano nailed the 63 yarder for the win, the Giants fall to 1-4 and It seems that nothing has changed.

This was a team that a few years back with a rising young star in Odell Beckham JR and an elite defense could contend for a Super Bowl. But last season, the Giants started 0-5, Odell Beckham has a season ending ankle Injury, and both Head coach Bob McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese were fired after week 13. The Giants cleaned house by hiring Pat Shumur as the new head coach and named Dave Gettleman as general manager and they drafted Saqoun Barkley with the second overall pick in the draft. This team was suppose to be built to contend yet again but now, they still look like the same team from a year ago, they have not yet fixed the offensive line and when It’s clutch time, they fail to close It out. They lost at home to Jacksonville by five points in the season opener, they lost to Dallas in week 2. They were able to win in Houston but lost badly to New Orleans last week and lost in Charlotte on Sunday on a three second field goal.

The Giants are 1-4, I said in the previous post that if they lose on Sunday, their season would be over. But 1-4, does not mean their done. In 2011, the Denver Broncos started 1-4 and after a bye week, they won their next seven out of eleven games finishing 8-8. The Broncos went on to make that playoffs and won the wild card game after a guy by the name of Tim Tebow completed a 80 yard touchdown pass to Deymarius Thomas to win at overtime against the Pittsburg Steelers. If the 2011 Denver Broncos can make the playoffs at 1-4, so can the 2018 New York Giants.

The Giants played a good game on Sunday but didn't get the job done, now they have to move on as they need to prepare for the next four days as they will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night and travel to Atlanta the following week. If the New York Giants want to make still the playoffs despite their rough start, It’s not going to be easy and they will need to play the heart, sweat, blood, and tears if they want to turn the season around. Eli, Odell, Giants defense, they all need to show up and play or they can wait till next year. With the Eagles coming to town on Thursday night, the Giants need to win more than ever and if they lose again, than It proves that nothing hasn’t changed.
