Donnel Pumphrey Isn't Really The Leading Rusher

First of all I want to congratulate Donnel on a phenomenal season and overall career. That being said, due to a rule that does not include postseason stats prior to 2002 when it comes to the NCAA Record book. Due to this rule Pumphrey has become the NCAA Rushing Leader. In his career Pumphrey has rushed for 213 total yards in bowl games, add that to 200 in Mountain West Conference title games along with his regular season games and he breaks Ron Dayne's rushing record. But, because Dayne did not play during this time period, his total of 6,397 yards does not include postseason play. When you add the postseason stats Dayne's yardage goes up to 7,125 yards. The same goes for Tony Dorsett, who rushed for 6526 yards when postseason play is tacked on, which would put him ahead of Pumphrey as well.

Overall, Pumphrey is a great player and deserves tons of credit for what he's done but in my opinion the NCAA Record Book should have his name third, not first when it comes to all time rushing yards.
