The Inevitable 0-16 Cleveland Browns

We ask the question almost every year when a team struggles to get it's first win after weeks and weeks of emabrassing performances. Here we are after 7 games and the Browns look like they won't win a game this season. History tells us they're more than likely to win at least one. The 2008 Detroit Lions are the only team to go 0-16. After looking at the schedule, it's almost a certainty the Browns will too.
They're now on their 5th quarterback of the season. Their offense went has gone from one dimensional, to no dimension at all. The defense isn't helping either. They're allowing more than 30 points per game. With this many injuries on offense and a defense that's a revolving door, there's little to no chance this team beats anyone. Someone would have to beat themsleves. They will certainly be underdogs in every game for the remainder of the season. And many times they will overwhelming double-digit underdogs.
Here's the remainder of the Browns schedule:
Week 8- New York Jets- 19th ranked offense/20th ranked defense. This is without a doubt the Browns best shot at getting a win. The Jets are having a public battle that's trickled down from the front office, to the head coach, to the quarterback position. If Fitzpatrick turns over the ball at the rate he's been going, thr Browns can win this game. But one would have to believe the Jets would take a conservative approach and do enough to get by seeing as they need a win just as badly.
Week 9- Dallas Cowboys -17th ranked offense/ 10th ranked defense. This isn't happening for the Browns. Dallas can punish them for 60 minutes on the ground. This will limit the already broken offense of Cleveland.
Week 10- @ Baltimore Ravens- 20th ranked offense/8th ranked defense. The Browns may struggle to even get to 14 in this game. Add a Ravens offense that has weapons to make plays down the field and realistically they could probably field goal the Browns to death in Baltimore.
Week 11- Pittsburgh Steelers- 7th ranked offense/28th ranked defense. If Roethlisberger is back, this game is over by the coin toss. If not, they have the weapons to still beat Cleveland with Landry Jones.
Week 12- New York Giants- 16th ranked offense/22nd ranked defense. Cleveland just simply won't be able to keep up with the pace. There's no way a defense giving up 30+ a game can contain these 2 phenomenal wide receivers.
Week 13- BYE- While they won't get a win in week 13, at least they won't lose one either.
Week 14- Cincinnati Bengals- 2nd ranked offense/19th ranked defense. They already have a win over Cleveland this season. And in a reoccurring theme, the Browns just won't have enough firepower on offense to keep up with the Bengals.
Week 15- @ Buffalo Bills - 21st ranked offense /21st ranked defense. This may be the 2nd best chance the Browns have at getting a win. However Buffalo is great team on the ground. In a similar fashion as Dallas, I see them beating the Browns 3.5 yards at a time and grinding it out.
Week 16- San Diego Chargers- 9th ranked offense/ 24th ranked defense. Aside form the the Browns potentially facing Roethlisberger twice, this will likely be one of their biggest blowouts. San Diego can put up monster yards through the air, on the ground and they can put points on the board. Don't let their current record fool you. San Diego is dangerous.
Week 17- @ Pittsburgh Steelers- 7th ranked offense/28th ranked defense. By this time Roethlisberger will be back. And the Steelers offense will be running on all cylinders as they prepare for the playoffs. It won't even be close.
The NFL is an unpredictable league. And parity is at an all-time high. Anything is possible. But the Browns just aren't simply part of that parity to the slightest degree. The also weren't done any favors on the back end of their schedule either. They don't get to face other inferior teams like San Francisco or Chicago in these final 9 games. And it's starting to become clear that the Browns aren't winning a game in 2016.
