World Series

The Cleveland Indians are in the World Series and looking to bring a championship for the baseball franchise home for the first time since 1948, almost 70 years.  But that drought is in no comparison to the one of their opponents, the Chicago Cubs.  The Cubs haven't brought a World Series to the North Side since 1908, a 108 year drought.  The good thing is that it should be a dynamite series, the bad thing is that one of these long droughts will continue for at least another year.  The Cubs may be the more talented of the two teams (and it is close), but the Indians are led by a guy who has 2 World Series titles.  We all know that Joe Maddon is a great manager and a shrewd tactician, but Terry Francona has been there and done that and has done a wonderful job steering his team to the AL Pennant.  The series will come down to what team can handle the big lights and pressure of the Fall Classic.  A lot of these players are experiencing the biggest stage in baseball for the first team and it may take a bit after the anthem is played for Game 1 for them to realize that it is now all about baseball.   A long drought will be broken and another one will have another agonizing end to a baseball season.  Buckle up it's going to be a wild ride.
