Mariners Daily 2/28

Happy Felix Day everybody!

Today Felix got his first start of spring training against the White Sox. Overall Felix did pretty good, allowing just 1 run over 2 innings of work. The one run Felix gave up was the only run that the M's pitchers would give up in the game as the Mariners beat the White Sox 8-1.

Offensively Segura, Cano, Cruz and Heredia continued to perform well this Spring while O'Malley, Vogelbach and Haniger also added to the offensive showing. Haniger especially had a great game, going 2-3 with a run, 3 RBI's and a monster homerun that he hit out of the ballpark, LITERALLY! Heredia also had a great game, going 2-3 with 2 runs a double and a triple that he scored on because of a throwing error. Overall it was a very productive day for the M's and it was great to see everyone perform.

It's been a good start the 2017 so far and the M's hope to continue improving and working things out tomorrow when they take on the Cleveland Indians at 12:05 PM PT at Goodyear Park. Drew Smyly will make his Mariners debut as he faces Indians starter Trevor Bauer. Once again the game will not be aired on TV, but you can listen to it on 710 ESPN Seattle Radio or MLB.com.
