Hammond Placed On Waivers After Turning Down A Conditioning Stint

The Ottawa Senators have placed Andrew Hammond on waivers

Well, it seems as if the Ottawa Senators have solved their goaltending problem.

I'm really confident now that the Andrew Hammond's Cinderella story in Ottawa has come to an end, (read Nov. 16 post).

The Senators have placed Hammond on was after he declined to go down to the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators on a conditioning stint.

In February of 2015, Hammond became the darling of Ottawa when he won 20 out of 23 games.  However, after signing a three-year, $4.05 million contract in the following May, he (Hammond) went 7-11-4 in 24 appearances the next season, (2015-16).

 I wrote about Hammond's success.  I didn't mentioned it at the time, but something inside me was worried that this was going to hapen
