Voracek & Simmonds Make It Six

Jakub Voracek scored with 8.6 seconds remaining in overtime Tuesday night in Philadelphia. Wayne Simmonds had two regulation goals leading the Philadelphia Flyers to their sixth straight victory, 3-2 over the Florida Panthers.

Steve Mason made 42 saves to help the Flyers to their longest winning streak in five years. Mason, who earned the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday, won his fifth straight start.

Voracek was denied multiple times throughout the night, but his consistency infront of the net paid off and put the Flyers on top to win the game.

Mason kept the Flyers ahead with his best save of the night six minutes into the third period when he robbed Jokinen with a sprawling glove save at the bottom of the right post.

Philadelphia moved to 6-3 in overtime while the Panthers dropped to 7-4. The Panthers were without their big center Jonathan Marchessault (lower body), who leads the club in goals (10) and points (19) for the second straight game. The Flyers and Panthers will meet up one more time in March.

The Flyers play their next game against the Edmonton Oilers Thursday Night (7 PM EST) in Philadelphia.
