Nick Swisher announces Retirement

Nick Swisher announced yesterday that he is retiring from baseball. He played for New York Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last year but opted out of the deal in July after the birth of his second daughter.

The 36-year old spent 12 seasons in the MLB and played for the Oakland A’s, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves. He won the World Series with the Yankees in 2009 and became an All-Star in 2010.

The first baseman and right fielder finishes his career with 805 runs, 245 HR and 803 RBI while hitting .249. Nick Swisher will join FOX Sports as a studio analyst for the 2017 season.
