Back at it: THE RETURN (NFC/AFC Discussion)

Okay, I have been off this site for a while. Not a good look, so I apologize to any of the few readers I have had. Because seriously, my viewership is lower than when pro bowling is broadcast on ESPN. But that is all about to change, because I am about to churn out more content than Donald Trump's Twitter. So wow, what a crazy NFL season this has been. The amount of injury carnage has been absolutely insane. As a die-hard NFL fan, in general, it was sad to see Carson Wentz go down last week. Even my Giants blood boiling inside me allowed sympathy for a super-talented rising star. This post is basically going to be a mosh pit of random football thoughts that I haven't quite fleshed out yet. I am going to focus mainly on the teams I really like at this point in each conference. I promise that my next post will be much more structured, but since I'm back writing for the first time, I just feel the need to throw out a bunch of random thoughts and takes...

First off, the Rams are GOOD. Yeah they lost to Philly last week, but they have been an exciting surprise story this season. Jared Goff and his golden locks of Cali surfer hair are balling out on everyone. They are officially my bandwagon NFC team with the Giants playing on par with the Browns and the '08 0-16 Lions. So I am fully on the Rams bandwagon - sign me up Sean McVay! Well, besides the Panthers... that has been my bandwagon for two years. In fact, I've been squatting on my take that the Panthers actually overtake the Cowboys and became America's Team two years ago, during their 15-1 march to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, Cam's Super Bowl 50 debacle, as well as last season's failure, put a bit of a halt on my take. But Cam and the boys have been back in full force this year! The former MVP is handing out footballs to fans left and right, like a cheerleader throwing out T-shirts during an NBA game. Jonathan Stewart might actually be a vampire who has started sucking the never-ending youth blood of Tom Brady, because he was gallivanting all across the field last week for his first 100 yard game in probably a century. Yeah, I said gallivanting - that's an underrated word.

So yeah, the Rams and Panthers are probably my NFC favorites. I also am a big fan of this new Case Keenum, though. But I'm hesitant as to whether he can keep up this performance; I feel like Teddy Bridgewater is gonna poison his Gatorade bottle any day now. Be safe out there, Case. Make Jeff Fisher proud.

On the AFC side, seeing the Dolphins smack the s*** out of New England on Monday was very enjoyable. But, I'm standing firm that Brady and the Pats just had a minor hiccup on another inevitable Super Bowl run. Believe me, I hope that does not happen, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. Like when my mom said my dad was just going out for a carton of milk and that he'd be right back...okay totally kidding on that one.

It's been all sunshine and roses in the Steel City, as Big Ben and the black and yellow brigade have risen to the current #1 seed in the conference. Ben threw the ball exactly 66 times on Sunday night versus the Ravens (no love lost, by the way) and I'm pretty sure he is going to need shoulder surgery ASAP.

Besides the Pats and Steelers, the only other contender/pretender candidates are the Chargers and the Jaguars. Wait what? Yes, the Jaguars seem to be for real. That was a huge win for them at home against goodie-two-shoes Russ "Cast Away" Wilson. As long as Blake Bortles holds onto the ball and doesn't become a turnover machine again, that Sacksonville defense can really do some damage come January. Lastly, Philly Rivers has been playing like a man possessed since his San Diego/Los Angeles/"whatever other city you want to name" Super Chargers started 0-4. And while his 25 kids did not get to spend Thanksgiving with old Philly, I'm sure they'd all enjoy fighting over a nice shiny Super Bowl ring next year.

Well, that is basically all the thoughts I have for right now.

I'm going to be back in full force for this upcoming Week 15. We've got the makings of a real Winter Classic tomorrow night, as the 4-9 Broncos take on the 3-10 Colts. Oh boy, I can't wait! Nothing quite says football like a QB battle of Jacoby Brisset vs Trevor Siemian. Or Paxton Lynch. Or...dare I say it?! Brock?! Don't tease me, John Elway.
