NFC Championship: Um, what was that? Nick Foles is THEIR Baby

Um...what the hell was that? That NFC Championship game was an embarrassing excuse for a football game. Now the NFL wonders why they're losing viewers!

But, in all seriousness, the Eagles smacked the Vikings in epic fashion.

I stopped watching consistently when Philly made it 31-7. I was still holding onto a slim hope that my final bandwagon team could make an epic comeback. And yes, I was also throwing in a few live bets on Vikings money line, but that is besides the point.

It seems like Nick "Napoleon Dynamite" Foles has returned back to his 2013 Pro Bowl form. What is his secret? Time-travel? Steroids? Horse tranquilizers? Carson Wentz's bottle of "Secret Stuff"? Or Jeff Fisher? All viable options..but regardless, Foles played a great game of football and, as a lifelong Giants fan, it pains me to say that.

Where was the Case Keenum that we all grew to love? Well, a lot of people probably did not love him. Let me re-phrase...where was the Case Keenum that we all grew to tolerate? I, for one, was totally supportive of the Keenum-Kurt Warner scenarios. For anyone that doesn't know me, I'm a sucker for a good underdog story. Yes, I do shed manly tears at the ends of "Rocky" and "Rudy" and I am proud to admit it.

That Vikings offense couldn't do anything against that Philly D. And, on the other side of the ball, Minnesota's widely-discussed defense disappeared quicker than Donald Trump's approval rating. And now, I am left without a bandwagon team...

Since the playoffs started, I have clung to various teams that I enjoy to watch. I bleed Giants blue, but since my team was a dumpster fire this year, I had to cheer for something else! When the playoffs started, my main bandwagon teams were the Rams, Panthers, and Chiefs. Oh! Guess what?! They all lost in the Wild Card round - great!

Then, I reverted back to my bandwagon team of last year's playoffs. Just like many hopeless romantics in toxic relationships, I went crawling back to the person (team) that hurt me in the past: The Falcons; who lost me a considerable amount of my college money during last year's 28-3 meltdown. And then, once again, my new bandwagon team of the '18 playoffs went crashing down last week as they lost to Philly. I hate the damn Eagles - all Giants fans are supposed to.

And so, we get to this week. I had one true bandwagon team left, as I found it hard to not cheer for the Vikings after the Minneapolis Miracle. I held onto a glimmer of hope that my prayers would be answered. Because I knew the Jaguars-Pats game would lose in heartbreak for Bortles and the gang, so I didn't get caught up in it. I focused all my attention on the Vikings fulfilling their Super Bowl-at-home destiny and beating my division rivals. And of course, they did not.

My most hated team, besides the Cowboys, is going to the Super Bowl against a team that not too many people outside of the New England area can root for. I'm borderline curled up in the fetal position as I finish writing this. I'll get more into this next time. But, for now, I'll leave you all with this.

Move over, Jeff Garcia. Nick Foles is Philadelphia's new baby. "He's it baby!"
