Pat Shurmur: Giants savior? Or Ben McAdoo 2.0

Well, Giants fans, it is now official. After the Eagles 38-7 shellacking of the Vikes, the front office quickly hired the offensive genius behind those 7 NFC Championship game points. Being a loyal fan, I'm trying to remain optimistic. But as I type this, I cannot help but have a sense of deja vu wash over me. Pat Shurmur seems like a good dude with the chance to be great for Big Blue.

Please Pat, do not turn into Ben McAdoo.

This is the second straight OC that the Giants have hired to be head coach. The only real differences are that McAdoo was our OC at the time, and that Shurmur doesn't have some dumbass mustache that makes him look like a 1970s pornstar.

I really hope that Shurmur was the right hire...the Giants kind of had their backs against the wall after they lost out on Matt Patricia and Josh McDaniels. It really shows how dysfunctional the NFL views my team. I'm just super biased and sitting around like the "It's Fine" dog while his house burns to the ground

Clearly, the Belichick duo would much rather go with younger, healthier QBs with tons of Super Bowl exerpience and stable owners. It's not like Eli Manning has never missed a start due to injury, or won 2 Super Bowls. And I mean, who is more stable than Jim Irsay?! That guy just lives and breathes stability. Not even counting the Breathalyzer he has to regular breathe on.. but I digress.

While I'm not too sold on Pat Shumur, I'm going into this season with an open-mind. Hopefully he turns out to be exactly what the G-Men need! But I'm not too hopeful right now...
