25 Teams In 25 Days: Hoop Dreams NYC's 2017-18 High School Hoops Preview

2016-17 season at a Glance: 11-10 regular season record (5-9 in the Brooklyn “AA” division) reached 2nd round of City playoffs

Key additions: Charles Brown

Players to Watch: Chris Goodwin, Majesty Johnson, Glen Anderson, Amadou Traore

The Brooklyn Collegiate Lions are a team on the come up in the Brooklyn “AA” division, they also have one of the top backcourt tandems in the city. The guard trio of sophomore Majesty Johnson, Junior Glen “jojo” Anderson and Senior Chris Goodwin can play against any backcourt in the city. Glen led the city in assists per game last season, Johnson is a lefty who can shoot the ball, as for Goodwin he is the most athletic guard out of the trio with an impressive leaping ability. These three guards are joined by a front court duo of 6-7 Forward Erlyn Ramirez and 6-7 Amadou Traore. Both players can create issues for many opposing front courts this season. Brooklyn collegiate also has a solid supporting cast that includes newcomer 6-3 guard Charles brown.

2017-18 Outlook

The Lions should have a much improved season from last year. Don’t let the small backcourt fool you, they have enough depth and toughness to survive the Brooklyn “AA” division as well as the grueling City playoffs. The Lions are definitely a team you shouldn't sleep on when the playoffs come.
