Personal statement from her high school days via NCSA:

"I envision my college career not only involving competition on the court, but off the court as well. Having strong grades has always been important to me, and attending a college with an academic environment that will push me as is something that I’m looking for. I take pride in maintaining a 4.0 and that goal will be continued throughout my college career. Right now I have aspirations of majoring in architecture, for it would give me a chance to blend my math and artistic abilities. On the court I take pride in being a strong leader, always full of positive energy to share with my teammates. I absolutely cherish each and every one of the bonds that I’ve formed with all my teammates over the years, and that is one of the main reasons I love playing basketball. Along with my dedication and passion for the game, I also have a big leadership role and always make it my goal to keep my teammates positive, confident, and poised. As a point guard I have the ability to score when needed, but I prioritize getting my teammates the ball where I know that they can score. Basketball has really helped me grow as a person through making me more confident, helping me learn to handle criticism, and building my collaboration skills. I haven’t always been the most outgoing, in fact I used to be one of the shyest kids. When I found basketball that all changed. I noticed people looking up to me for instruction and what to do next. I noticed with this natural ability to lead that I could have such positive influence in other people’s lives. That motivated me to step out of my box and widen my circle, knowing that the more people I come in contact with, the bigger my opportunity to positively influence others would get. I think my strong optimism and huge energy presence is what makes me stand out."

Inspirational words, indeed. Injuries have wrecked Sydnie's team for this season, but this will be someone to watch over the next three and a half years moving forward.
