DFS PGA Tournament Recap - AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

With a six-shot lead heading into the final round, Jordan Spieth played it safe and cruised to four-stroke victory in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. No other golfer really put too much pressure on him Sunday which made it a very easy decision to play it conservative. After averaging 298 yards off the tee the first three days, he averaged just 252 yards on Sunday. He ended up with just two birdies but a clean Bogey-Free round of 67. He was my top pick for the week, mainly because of his huge improvement in approaches and tremendous form. Once you see these elite golfers get a sniff of the top of the leaderboard in multiple weeks in short period of time, you can almost bank on a win. Hint, hint! My top golfer next week has a similar form trend.

The win was Spieth's 9th career victory, making him the 2nd youngest(23 years, 6 months) to Tiger Woods to reach 9 wins since 1945. I am calling it now. Spieth gets the Green Jacket back from Danny Willet!

Let's take a look at where Spieth and everyone else ranked in GPP Ownership and Final DraftKings points:

Spieth's four-stroke win was tremendous for fantasy owners as he tied for the most birdies(23), had the least bogeys(4), had one Bogey Free Round bonus, one 3+ Birdie Streak bonus and the win points for a total of 125.5 points, 18.5 more than Kelly Kraft. The best part about Spieth last week, you ask? Here is my write up from my DFSR article last week just to toot my horn a little. It's my blog, I will do what I want. lol.

Besides the spelling mistake(I am disappointed, not angry at myself), I spot on. His average GPP ownership dropped from 21% last to 19% this week and from 9th overall to 13th.

Before going and wearing out the horn I tooted above, I must admit that my lineup construction gets a big F this week as I totally fudged up in the bottom tier which was essential if you were paying up for Spieth and playing stars and scrubs. Luckily, I lowered my bankroll exposure this week with the Pro-AM + multi-course rotation + shitty weather and was able to get half of my investment back with two lineups that did well. One balanced and one with Spieth. Live and learn I guess.

With words inspired by Bill Belichek, who we painfully saw every single shot of this week, "We are on to Riviera".
