Martellus Bennett Headed to Green Bay

This is pretty simple to discuss, Martellus Bennett has committed to the Green Bay Packers for the 2017 NFL season and possibly beyond.  Contract details are not out yet, but I'm assuming another one-year deal is not in the works for Ted Thompson and free agent tight ends.  Although anything is possible, this likely spells the end for Jared Cook and his brief tenure in Titletown, and makes up somewhat for the losses of other free agents.

This offense just became one of the most explosive in the NFL, and with the addition of a running back (perhaps we still go for Adrian Peterson or Jamaal Charles), this becomes the best offense in football.  Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in football, and having a middle-of-the-field threat in Bennett along with the likes of receivers Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams and Randall Cobb, Rodgers now has four outstanding options to use.  Throw in Geronimo Allison, Ty Montgomery out of the backfield and fellow tight end Richard Rodgers, and it's easily one of the best passing attacks Rodgers has ever had.

The areas of need in Green Bay are dwindling daily, but it would be hard to expect Ted to sign another free agent from another team.  Cornerback remains the biggest need in Green Bay, and obviously we need more bodies at running back.  I also think trying to bring back TJ Lang is vital, but I doubt Thompson will anymore.  We could also use another outside linebacker, but that's further down the needs of the team.
