Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott took the league by storm last season. They went 13-3 and lost in the divisional round to the Green Bay Packers. Dallas lost twice to the New York Giants.

The Cowboys will have high expectations once again this season. Dak Prescott couldn't have been a sensation last season without Tony Romo getting injured in the preseason. Prescott did a tremendous job handling himself as a professional.

Maybe he needs to teach that to his teammate Elliott. Elliott could be suspended for the off the field issues but who knows if the NFL will actually take any action for it.

Dak will be the starting quarterback. Kellen Moore is expected to be the backup. Cooper Rush and Zac Dysert will compete for the third quarterback spot.

After Elliott, the battle for the number two running back spot will be very interesting. Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris will compete for the job. The loser will be the third running back. Then the battle for the final running back spot will be between Rod Smith and Jahad Thomas.

At wide receiver, Dez Bryant, Terrence Williams, and Cole Beasley is a slam dunk for a one, two, three punch. After that, it could be a war for the four, five, and six spots. I expect Brice Butler and Lucky Whitehead to make the roster. Ryan Switzer, Andy Jones, Uzoma Nwachukwu, and Andy Jones will compete for the final spot.

Jason Witten will be the starter at tight end. After that, it will there will be a major competition in camp for the second and third tight end spots. Geoff Swaim, Rico Gathers, Connor Hamlett, Blake Jarwin, and James Hanna will battle for those spots.

The Dallas Cowboys had the best offensive line in the NFL last season. Tyron Smith, Chaz Green, Travis Frederick, Zack Collins, and La'el Collins is the projected starting offensive line for the Cowboys.

The defense could be a major issue for the Cowboys this upcoming season. Tyrone Crawford, Cedric Thornton, Maliek Collins, and Demarcus Lawerence is the projected starting defensive line. Rookie Taco Charlton could be a force right away in the rotation on the defensive line for the Cowboys.

Damien Wilson, Anthony Hitchens, and Sean Lee will be the starting linebacking core. Sean Lee is the heart and soul of this Cowboys defense.

Anthony Brown, Byron Jones, Jeff Heath, and Nolan Carroll is going to be a possible interesting starting secondary this season. They could be hit or miss. Brown and Jones were young last season and they struggled. If they improved in the offseason, it could be a good sign for the Cowboys defense.

Orlando Scandrick is also a big part of this Cowboys secondary. Marquez White and Jourdan Lewis are rookies and could be a major part in the secondary this season if somebody gets hurt.

Dan Bailey will be the Cowboys kicker and Chris Jones will be the Cowboys punter. Lucky Whitehead will be the team's kick and punt returner.

Randy Gregory and David Irving are both currently suspended. If the Cowboys don't win the Super Bowl this season, it will be a failure for them once again and Stephen A. Smith will just keep on smiling.
