Eagles Surprise Giants

The New York Giants fell into a 14 to 0 hole early thanks to a Darren Sproles 25-yard touchdown run and Malcolm Jenkins 34-yard pick six. They tried to climb out of it but it seemed like they never could. The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants 24 to 19.

With the Eagles up 14 to 6 in the second-quarter, Carson Wentz threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor. Wentz finished with 152 yards passing 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Right before halftime, Sterling Shepard caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning.

Shepard finished with 7 catches for 61 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. With the Giants trailing 21 to 16 in the fourth-quarter, the Giants stopped the Eagles on a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

After the two minute warning on fourth-and-inches, the Giants committed a false start. On the next attempt, Sterling Shepard was held and the pass was incomplete but no flag on the play.

The Giants forced the Eagles to a 3 and out. New York would get the ball back. Odell Beckham Jr. caught a few passes on the drive. He finished with 11 catches for 151 yards receiving. He made Eli Manning's stats somewhat relevant. With :14 seconds to go, Manning threw a lollipop and it was intercepted.

He missed on throws all night long, and he didn't zip the ball when he needed to. Manning hasn't looked good in the past 3 out of 4 games. He threw for 356 yards 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.

With the Giants loss, the Dallas Cowboys have clinched the NFC East title and number 1 seed in the NFC. At some point the Giants will clinch, but they need to be concerned right now with the way Eli has been playing. As for the Eagles, they were playing for pride.

The Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys (12-2) next Sunday.
