Columbus wanted to keep its season alive and Pittsburgh wanted to end it. Marc-Andre Fleury inspired the Pittsburgh Penguins by making 49 saves in a 5 to 2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Phil Kessel scored a power-play goal in the first period for Pittsburgh. Bryan Rust scored two goals in the second period for the Penguins. William Karlsson and Boone Jenner (power play) scored for the Blue Jackets in the second.

At the beginning of the third period, it appeared as if the Blue Jackets tied the game at 3, but they were called for goalie interference and it gave the Penguins a power play.

Sidney Crosby would scored on the power play. Less than a minute later, Scott Wilson scored on a no look back-handed goal.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 27 saves for the Blue Jackets. Pittsburgh advances to the second round. Columbus concludes its season.
