Is Russell Westbrook a Stat Padder?

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

For the eighth time this season, Russell Westbrook posted a triple-double in a victory over the New York Knicks on Monday Night. Throughout the first 19 games of the regular season, he is averaging a triple-double per game with 30.9 PPG, 10.3 RPG, and 11.3 APG.

This is the first this has happened late into a season since Oscar Robertson did it in 1963-64 season. Can Westbrook sustain this success throughout the rest of the regular season? He has the Oklahoma City Thunder off to an 11-8 start.

I believe he could sustain the triple-double success because he is the heart and soul of this Thunder team, and he gives it his all every night. You have to wonder can he ever win a championship playing this way, and he is possibly a stat padder as well?

Well as long as Kevin Durant isn't around, I don't think he will ever win a championship. That doesn't mean Westbrook can't win a playoff series by himself. They don't have enough scoring and it is a problem when Enes Kanter and Steven Adams are your 3rd and 4th leading scorers per game on the team.

I think Westbrook has to be a stat padder by default because if he doesn't put up those numbers, the Thunder will struggle to win. He will also be an MVP candidate as well and possibly win it.
