Mets Should Make Trades and Bulk Up Farm System

Desperate measures calls for desperate times for the New York Mets. They are currently 16-20 on the season. They have lost four straight games and the pitching has given up 35 runs in that span.

They can't hide from the adversity that faces them daily. Noah Syndergaard, Steven Matz, Seth Lugo, Yoenis Cespedes, Travis d'Arnaud, and Lucas Duda are currently injured.

This is a team that had high expectations heading into the season. Everything has basically blown up in their face.

If I was the general manager, I would bring up Amed Rosario (.359 batting average 2 homeruns 22 RBI's and 7 stolen bases) and Dominic Smith (.324 batting average 4 homeruns and 23 RBI's) from the minors. I would bring up Brandon Nimmo (.098 batting average 1 homerun 3 RBI's) and Gavin Cechinni (.241 batting average 2 homeruns and 11 RBI's) too, but the stats in Triple-A claim they are not ready.

Asdrubal Cabrera is injured, but it isn't smart for him to play through a torn ligament in his thumb.

Curtis Granderson (.144 batting average) has been awful all season long and he should be on the bench. Jose Reyes (.189 batting average) should be on the bench too. The younger players grow together.

The Mets should try and shop Neil Walker, Jay Bruce, and Matt Harvey if things continue to go south for them. They also should get some bullpen help as well.

Here are some trades I thought of for these players: Jay Bruce to the Detroit Tigers for prospects Kyle Funkerhouse (RHP) and Jacob Robson (OF).

Neil Walker to the Los Angeles Dodgers for prospects Omar Estevez (2B/SS) and Josh Sborz (RHP).

Matt Harvey to the Baltimore Orioles for prospects Anthony Santander (OF/1B), Tanner Scott (LHP), Stefan Crichton (RHP), and Aderlin Rodriguez (3B).

I would also make Paul Sewald the closer and get rid of Rafael Montero. I would also maybe make a trade to upgrade the bullpen, but it is more important to get future assets.

This is just suggestions and any of this could wind up not happening. It is also possible Terry Collins, Sandy Alderson, and Ray Rameriz could get fired during the middle of the season.

There is a reason why I only write this stuff and not perform it. We let the general managers decide that stuff.
