Predators Bite Ducks Out of Playoffs; Advance to Finals

Nashville wanted to deliver the final bite to Anaheim's Stanley Cup hopes. The Predators defeated the Ducks 6 to 3 in game 6. They advance to their first ever Stanley Cup Final.

Austin Watson and Colton Sissons scored in the first period for Nashville. Anaheim's Nick Ritchie was given a game misconduct because of a boarding penalty to Nashville's Viktor Arvidsson. Ondrej Kase scored for the Ducks in the second-period.

The third period was filled with fireworks. Colton Sissons scored his second goal of the game for Nashville. Chris Wagner and Cam Fowler scored for Anaheim in the third-period.

With six minutes remaining in regulation, Sissons scored his third goal of the game, which happened to be the game winner.

Anaheim pulled the goalie with 2:30 remaining in regulation. It was a major risk and it didn't pay off. Filip Forsberg and Austin Watson scored empty-net goals.

Pekka Rinne made 38 saves for the Predators. Jonathan Bernier got the start for the Ducks since John Gibson was out with a lower-body injury. He made 12 saves. Jhonas Enroth was the backup in the game.

The Nashville Predators will either face the Pittsburgh Penguins or the Ottawa Senators which begins next Monday.
