Mike Condon leaving the Habs and is now a member of the Penguins !

Yesterday, when the Montreal Canadiens put goalie Mike Condon on the waivers we all think that he would likely not be claimed and that he would be send down to the St-John IceCaps in the AHL. However, we learned today at noon, that Condon was claimed by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens were in need of a backup goalie since Matt Murray was injured in the World Cup of Hockey a couple weeks ago. Mike Condon will now be playing in the NHL for the start of the season as the backup of Marc-André Fleury. When Matt Murray will return, he sould logically be send down in the AHL, but he will still have to pass by the waivers process again. For me, it's a good news for Mike Condon because the Canadiens were not having any more plans for him in the NHL. With now Montoya as the backup and the return of Carey Price healthy, Condon would have pass the entire season in the AHL. Now, he will have another chance to prove that he can be a very good 2nd goalie in the big league. Good luck Mike !
