Montreal Candiens 2016 training camp : Mark Barberio put on waivers, will Artturi Lehkonen and Mikhail Sergachev will stay in MTL ?

The 2016 training camp of the Montreal Canadiens will come to an end tomorrow. The team will play a final preaseason game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Montreal. Then, the Habs will start their 2016-2017 season next thursday in Buffalo against the Sabres. It will be interesting to see which players will be the final cuts of the team. The team just announce that defensemen Mark Barberio as been put on waivers, so if he is not claim by another team, Barberio will go to St-Jonh in the AHL. With that news, it likely confirm that 18 years old defensemen Mikhail Sergachev will start the season with the big club. One foward will still likely be send down to the AHL in the next few hours /days. Michael McCarron or Sven Andrighetto are the two in most danger. For Artturi Lehkonen, he will stay in MTL for all the season. He had a very good training camp and if he doesn't make the team, he cannot be send down in the AHL because of his agreement with his Sweden club in Frolunda. The Habs doesn't want to loose him for all the season, so they will keep him.
