RIP 2017 Utah Jazz

Well, the Utah Jazz finally made it back to the postseason after a long drought once Deron Williams was traded to Brooklyn. After beating the Clippers in seven games in round one, they got swept by the Golden State Warriors, and only really had a chance in game three. The Jazz do have some business to take care of this off-season to ensure they stay on the rise, but it likely won't be terribly difficult for them.

DRAFT PICKS: They have both of their original picks, a first rounder from Golden State and a second rounder from Detroit

SALARY CAP: $9,583,000

FREE AGENTS: George Hill, Shelvin Mack, Joe Ingles, Jeff Withey, Gordan Hayward?

PLAYERS UNDER CONTRACT

SF-Gordan Hayward?, Joe Johnson

SG-Dante Exum, Rodney Hood

PG-Alec Burks, Raul Neto

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS OFF-SEASON

I put Gordan Hayward next to a question mark and in both categories because he is unsure about whether he will opt out, which likely means that the Jazz have a good chance to keep him. As far as their own free agents are concerned, the priority is Hill, Ingles, Mack and Withey in that order. The Jazz could use more veteran help as well, and look for whatever cheap, reliable upgrades they can find.

EARLY PREDICTION FOR 2017-18

This is a young core still, with Hayward only 27 and on the older side of the core, so the Jazz' window is just starting to open. Expect another season similar to this one if too many changes don't occur.
