Syracuse stays Perfect at Home vs BU on Saturday Afternoon

Coming off a 2 point loss vs UConn, The Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team looked to get back on track on Saturday afternoon at home against Boston University and keep their undefeated home record at the Carrier Dome.

Opening up the first half, both teams stayed within one another, basket after basket, keeping the game tied for a majority of the first half until the Orange went on a 11-8 run in the last 3 minutes. Boston may have out-rebounded the Orange 24-16 in the first half, but the Orange's defensive ability to force more turnovers and scoring 14 points compared to BU's 1 point helped them have a 45-39 lead at halftime. Senior John Gillon was the leading scorer for the Orange coming off the bench with 14 points.

Syracuse came out strong in the second half as they went on a 20-5 run in the first 6 minutes and they did not stop from there, even if BU had continued to out-rebound them. Syracuse's bench players continued to shine on the court in the second half as two players, John Gillon and Taurean Thompson, had outscored the starters 45 to 44 points. From the start, BU came to play at the Carrier Dome, but the Orange had greatly improved since their loss to UConn where they outscored the Terriers and pick up their sixth win of the season as they won 99-77, over the 3rd Patriot League opponent faced this season.

Looking into next week, The 6-3 Syracuse Orange will look to continue to stay perfect at the Carrier Dome as they host old BIG East rivals Georgetown next Saturday at 12pm on ESPN. Despite the amazing performance from the SU bench this afternoon, Andrew White III continues to lead the Orange's Season Leading Scorers List with 16.6 points per game.
