Tony Romo Has a Broadcasting Career Waiting for Him Once He Retires

NCAA Basketball: Cincinnati at Southern Methodist

Tony Romo is still with the Cowboys, pending a decision from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Romo lost his starting spot to rookie quarterback Dak Prescott after he performed well all season. There is little chance that Romo could take back his starting spot next season and the Cowboys can not afford to pay him $14 million a year to cheer on his team from the sidelines.

If no other NFL team is interested in him or he decided to retire, both the NFL and CBS would like to add him as an NFL broadcaster.

Jerry Jones has said he has until training camp (July 23rd) to make that final decision regarding Romo's future with the Cowboys. Many believe that is release is inevitable.
