The New Free-Agents: Which teams should consider them?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Teams continue to trim down their line-ups and I think these are the most interesting players to talk about.

GARY DAVID
El Granada continue his search for his first ever PBA championship in another team after the Beermen let him go. With his name recognition and experience, I think some teams will make a call. Phoenix is the best fit because they are craving to shoot as many threes as possible and that is the specialty of Gary. David's experience in sniping will also help the other younger shooters of the Fuel Masters.

One other team that is a very interesting possibility is the Aces. Dondon Hontiveros has been a vital cog of the team because of his shooting so why not double dip with Gary David?

MARK ISIP
Globalport ended their ties with Isip after two seasons. Isip is an undersize traditional bigman who will try to score inside and grab as many boards as possible. Of course, Mahindra is looking for bigs and I am hoping they will try Isip.

DORIAN PENA

Hey Mahindra, how about the old dog Pena? I am pretty sure he will not ask for much and his presence alone in practice with his very-PBA style will provide great learning experience for your guards. Dorian can also eat up minutes in facing the giants in the league.

RASHAWN MCCARTHY?
Due to the rule that a team can only keep five Fil-Foreigns in their line-up, McCarthy is endangered to be the highest pick to be left unsigned in the history  of the league. That could be disastrous for him because the opening of the league is nearing.

One team that could take a look at him is the Meralco Bolts. Alapag officially retired for good so adding another point guard will not be bad. McCarthy will be a different type of PG from Amer, Newsome and Caram because he is more of a 3-and-D guy.
