October 27 News and Rumors Bits: Dennis Schroeder, Goran Dragic, Bulls and etc.

Here are some news to chime in.

NEWS
The Man: Atlanta Hawks and Dennis Schroeder agreed upon a $70 Million, 4 years deal.

- Great move for both camps. Atlanta is trying to recreate what Golden State did with Stephen Curry. If Dennis meets up expectation, his contract will be one of the best in the league and that will give the Hawks a lot of space to put good guys around him and compete.

Really?: Austin Rivers revealed that he turned down bigger money to remain with the Clippers. Here was his explanation, " I’m not taking this for granted. I was on a team where it was very bad. There are only four or five teams in the league with a realistic chance to win this year, and I think we’re one of them."

- It is pretty hard to believe that a team will offer more than $35 Million/3 Years for a guy who posted 11.1 PER and -0.1 VORP. Nevertheless, coach Rivers should be happy that his son re-signed because they need his scoring off the bench.

RUMORS
The Value: Are you wondering why Kentavious Caldwell-Hope's contract has not been extended yet?
According to some sources, KCP wants a  contract near the maximum or above $20 Million.

- I do know that 3-and-D wings are pretty important in today's landscape but are you willing to invest that for a guy that averaged 14.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 30.9% 3FG in 36.7 minutes of play last season? He will need to show a little bit of improvement for me to say that, that is a fair deal.

Taking Advantage: Chicago Bulls and R.J. Hunter, the last cut of the Boston Celtics, are nearing a deal.

- This will be a great marriage because the Bulls badly needs some shooters.

Go/Stay: Miami Heat is covering up the recent rumors surrounding Goran Dragic. According to Mr. Marc Stein of ESPN, Miami hasn't put Goran on the block. But, some journalist believes that they are just putting smoke screen for the mean time as they observe their team early in the season.

- Unless they are at the top 3 in the East in December 1, I expect this rumor to be much clearer at that point. I do expect Goran to be traded but that could happen as far as next season.
