NBA Trade Rumors : Chicago Bulls Shopping Jimmy Butler?

The Chicago Bulls may be looking to trade Jimmy Butler away. Butler has drawn so much attention the last couple of seasons and the Bulls know they can get someone they really need by trading Butler.

Jimmy Butler is currently averaging 26 points along with 4 assists per contest this season. He is a great player with a great basketball I.Q. and trading Butler would be a huge mistake in my opinion. If the Bulls were to trade the player from Marquette, who would they try to pick up? Let's look at three options for the Bulls :

1. Carmelo Anthony - Anthony has been in the NBA since 2003 who obviously has the experience and talent to help the Bulls. Anthony would even fit in better in Chicago than in New York, playing alongside Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade. Anthony is a better shooter than Rondo, Wade, and Butler according to stats and would definitely be the best shooter for the Bulls. The Bulls' current starting five is Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, and Robin Lopez. You look at those five and you're going to say that Butler is the best shooter, but Anthony is probably a little better so trading Butler for Anthony would make sense. The main reason why the Knicks would be willing to trade for Butler is because of his experience with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

2. Jay Crowder and Amir Johnson - The Boston Celtics were supposedly going to trade for Jimmy Butler during the off season but the Bulls said no. Anyway Jay Crowder would be an okay pickup for the Bulls along with Amir Johnson. The Bulls kind of need another center in Johnson too. The Bulls have Bobby Portis and Cristiano Felicio but they need someone with more experience like Johnson to backup Lopez. Most basketball fans would say no to this but the Bulls got the shooting players they need and defensive players. Plus the Bulls would clear a lot of cap space too. This trade seems unlikely but you never know!

3. Klay Thompson - This trade would be an interesting one for sure. Thompson is the better three-point shooter but Butler is a better all around shooter. To get Thompson, the Bulls would probably have to trade someone else or a draft pick along with Butler. Thompson would be a huge pickup for the Bulls because the Bulls need a player who can shoot the three-ball and splash it in constantly. Thompson has been in a lot of trade rumors lately as well so the Bulls no they can 'feast' on this opportunity.

Whatever happens to Jimmy Butler this season, I know he will be at his best. Butler is a valuable player but if the Bulls believe that they need to make a change then it will be Butler where they make their change because he is worth the most.
